The Proctology Department at Hôpital Paris Saint-Joseph (Paris, France)

The Proctology Department at Hôpital Paris Saint-Joseph is a department specialising in the medical, instrumental and surgical treatment of diseases of the anus. We provide a wide range of treatments, including the most innovative, for anal fissure, haemorrhoidal disease, anal fistulas, anoperineal Crohn’s disease, sexually transmitted anorectal infections, pilonidal disease, hidradenitis suppurativa, precancerous lesions and cancers of the anus and various functional anorectal pathologies. In particular, we are developing minimally invasive surgery for haemorrhoidal and pilonidal diseases, various sphincter-sparing techniques for fistulas, injections of adipose tissue and stem cells for Crohn’s anoperineal fistulas, amongst other techniques. We are organised to deal with proctological emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We also carry out a range of functional investigations, including manometry, endosonography, high-resolution anoscopy and endoscopy. Of course, we work closely with the hospital’s gastroenterology, dermatology, digestive surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, urology, oncology, medical imaging and pathology departments.
